Curtis Henderson, Jr., General Manager
Curtis has served as General Manager of Boston Neighborhood Network Television for the past eight years. Prior to becoming General Manager, he was Director of Community Access Programming for ten years and Studio Manager for two years. His commitment to the goals of the organization is evident in his accomplishments. Curtis has worked to bring BNN into the digital age, specifically working to close the gap in the digital divide by creating a multimedia center, updating equipment to a digital format and creating new training opportunities. Recently he has concentrated his efforts to sustain the organization by purchasing the building that is BNN's new permanent home.

Curtis has also worked tirelessly to bring the residents of the City of Boston the programming they need to become an informed and educated citizenry. Under his supervision, BNN’s news and information programming line-up has blossomed from a daily local news program to collaborations with nonprofit organizations and government agencies and public institutions, to political coverage of local races. His technology background and management expertise have led to successful co-productions about health, education, politics, and more.

In 1995, the Alliance for Community Media honored Curtis with the Jewel Ryan White Award for developing cultural diversity in access television. Under Curtis' leadership, BNN has received national recognition including honors from The National Alliance for Community Media for “Overall Excellence” in 2001 and 2005 and Honorable Mention for "Overall Excellence" in 2002.

Curtis currently serves as president of the Board of Directors of the Timothy Smith Network, an organization dedicated to improving the technology competencies of residents of the Greater Roxbury area.
