My Neighborhood: Boston

My Neighborhood: Boston

The Boston Foundation highlights key strategies for Boston's Neighborhoods.

My Neighborhood: Boston, hosted by TV veteran and award-winning journalist Carmen Fields, is a six-part television series presenting strategies from The Boston Foundation that are successfully impacting neighborhoods throughout the city of Boston.  Watch My Neighborhood: Boston on Sundays at 7:30 PM on BNN's News and Information Channel [Comcast 9 | RCN 15]

Each week, My Neighborhood: Boston, a collaboration between The Boston Foundation (TBF) and Boston Neighborhood Network (BNN), will highlight a new neighborhood and strategy.  The show format includes a video featuring a community-based organization that is supporting The Boston Foundation strategy in the neighborhood, a spotlight profile of a community hero confronting critical issues in the neighborhood, and a roundtable discussion with five guest panelists moderated by Ms. Fields.  The Boston Foundation strategies on health and fitness, cultural vibrancy, education, workforce development, violence, and transportation are revealed as they are reflected in the Boston neighborhoods of Hyde Park, Dorchester, Roxbury, Mattapan, Chinatown and the South End.

Series producer Steve Marx says this series is an opportunity to provide an in-depth look at the ways The Boston Foundation is addressing vital issues affecting the city of Boston. “I believe as viewers watch the series, each episode will bring them closer to an important issue and inform them about individuals who are making a direct impact in their community,” Marx added.  “We are excited to collaborate with The Boston Foundation again,” says BNN General Manager, Curtis Henderson.  “This is exactly the kind of information we want to bring our viewers to help strengthen the community and unite the city.”

The series will cablecast on BNN’s News and Information Channel [Comcast 9 | RCN 15] Sundays at 7:30PM.*
