Facilities & Meeting Space

Thousands of community residents and visitors come through Boston Neighborhood Network on a yearly basis. Guests enter our facilities for studio productions, media lab trainings, events, and meetings.

The Boston Neighborhood Network Charles J. Beard II Media Center offers space for production, educational, and professional purposes. BNN facilities are available to BNN members, individuals, groups, and organizations affiliated with Boston Neighborhood Network.

Timothy Smith Network Media Lab

The Media Lab is equipped with the following:

• 1 Instructor Station (MacPro 12-Core towers with 27-inch LED Cinema Displays)
• 12 Student Stations (MacPro 12-Core towers with 27-inch LED Cinema Displays)
• 2 42-inch flat-screen instruction monitors
• 2 DV Decks
• 13 SDHC Card Readers
• Final Cut Pro Suite 5.1
• Adobe Creative Suite 3

TV Production Studios A & B

Studios are equipped with the following:

• 3 HD/SD cameras
• SD DVD roll-in capable
• DV tape roll-in capable
• DV/DVCAM record
• Clip playback from switcher
• On-set display for graphics
• 24-channel lighting system with memory recall (32 channels in Studio A)
• DVD, DV/DVCAM tape
• MPEG file to go direct to server
• Video Teleprompter
• Chroma key greenscreen (Studio A only)
• Living Room and Anchor Desk set options

Edit Suites

Three available, which may be equipped with the following:

• MacPro 12 Core
• Final Cut 7 / Studio 3
• Adobe Creative Suite 3
• DV / SVHS / DVD external devices for Final Cut
• SDHC card reader
• NTSC monitor

Conference Room

One available and equipped with the following:

• Smart board with projector
• Second projector and screen (NEC)
• DVD player
• Speakerphone
• External computer VGA / DVI connection
• External video / audio connection
• Mac computer with Internet access

Capacity: 30 (theater set-up) | 20 (classroom set-up) | 12 (conference room set-up)

Green Room

One available and equipped the following:

• Utility Counter and Sink
• Vanity Area

• High-top table and stools

Capacity: 8 (high-top tables and stools) | 5 (lounge chair and high-top table and stools)

Dub Rack

• DVD to SVHS dub deck
• DV deck
• Monitor
• External input for guest machine (audio / SVHS)
• Any combo of recording/dubbing from any of the sources in the rack
