Boston Youth Share Their Vision for Boston with Mayor Martin J. Walsh
On January 4, 2014, Mayor Martin J. Walsh and the Boston 2014 Inaugural Committee hosted the first-ever “Youth Inaugural Summit” for the next generation of Bostonians. The summit welcomed hundreds of Boston youth to Roxbury Community College to share their vision for the city of Boston. Young people in grades six through nine were invited to join the Mayor for a day of brainstorming and dialogue about their hopes and dreams for themselves and the city.
Boston Neighborhood Network's Youth Media Initiatives provide a safe and supportive setting to educate youth under the age of 21 years in media arts and emerging technologies for use in self-expression, communication and social change. Through strategic partnerships, community grants and individual supporters, young people from all walks of life have an opportunity to share their ideas as well as raise visibility around the value of youth voices and perspectives using BNN’s media resources.
